A very elegant bird perched on a wood plinth protecting its textile-decorated egg. Made as a response to three wood doves I bought in Khartoum market many years ago, I have always loved them and they inspired this textile Dove, its companion is also for sale. It has a very firm body covered with luxurious fabrics from my large collection of offcuts. The beak is a piece of wood I carved from my hedge!

I have only just made this piece but I can see it is a subject I will return to, I just love it and it will be tough to let it go. I have include a photo with an obliging cat for scale and also an image of the three wood birds from Sudan.
