A very belated post, but I had the most wonderful time spending most of April 2019 in Australia. I was invited to teach with FibreArts Australia in Toowoomba and Ballarat also having time on my own to explore Brisbane and Melbourne. What amazing Art Galleries they have over there, spent days and days wondering around.

I have been invited by Fibre Arts Australia to hold some workshops next year just before Easter, one of the workshops is already full but there are still places left at the one near Brisbane.

There is a Fair in the beautiful Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum for the first time this May.
It is the Glasgow Contemporary Art Fair and I will be exhibiting 4 works with Smithy Gallery, the fair runs from 11th -13th May. Details at www.gcaf.co.uk

I am so delighted to have been selected to have a stand at this years London Design Fair where, for the first time, the British Crafts Council are having their own large pavilion with 25 selected makers. The fair takes place at The Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London E1 6QL from September 22-25th (the first two days are Trade and Press only) If you would like to meet me in person, I shall be there every day showing off new pieces.
This Horse and Foal made from all manner of recycled and found objects will be amongst many other pieces on show at the Fair, to give an idea of size, the larger Horse is approx. 50cm H x 50cm L
Some of my birds in vintage Bell Jars are on display at the Union Gallery during the festival month, there are also several other pieces of mine there so do visit if you are in the area.

From the 11th - 26th June, 20 of my bird pieces will be on display at the lovely Alphabet Soup gallery in Great Missenden, Bucks HP16 0AL. They are open every day apart from Sundays from 9.30am - 5pm. Hope some of you can get to visit, lots of other venues to see in the area.

My show of new sculptures inspired by 'Old Wives' tales, proverbs and idioms that use animals to illustrate their meanings opens on May 26th at Jack Tierney Gallery, Aberdeen.
I had great fun in asking peoples' help in sourcing these sayings from around the World, some are instantly familiar and, hopefully, many will bring a smile, reminding us of our Human frailty and weakness, but also our strength, kindness and humour. It is always good to stay aware of our own foibles.
Most of these pieces in the show have been made from recycled materials and 'found' objects, some from rubbish skips, some left at my door by neighbours who know me and many pieces found at Jumble and Car boot sales, what is someone else's rubbish, is treasure to me!
The individual pieces can be seen on my Facebook page along with their own individual proverb/saying with my own thoughts about each piece.
I’m delighted to be taking part in this show in Leeds which starts on the 19th March and runs until 25th June. It celebrates artists and craftsmen who use found and discarded materials to create something new and even better! So many wonderful pieces will be there.
I have two of my animals in the show: ‘Black Swan’, life sized with the armature made from wooden furniture off-cuts and plaster, over which I tightly bound and stitched strips of vintage fabric, leather and black wire.
The other piece is ‘Fish please’ the life size cat, it has an armature of old wire netting onto which I attached numerous ‘found’ objects with copper from electrical wiring. Amongst the many objects used are cutlery, horse brasses, typewriter keys, watch parts, an old tin tray and several buckles and keys.

Two of my Hares, 'Penny for your thoughts' and 'H is for handsome Hare' are part of the Union Gallery's Summer Cocktail show. It opens on 10th July and runs until the 2nd August.

My Young Alpaca or 'Cria' will be at Sculpture on the Farm from 13th-28th June 2015. It is a beautiful venue where Alpacas are bred and there will be approximately 300 artworks to browse around, both inside and out in the open.

Flock of birds ready to go to Alphabet Soup in Great Missenden , Bucks
I shall be exhibiting a whole host of animals at Alphabet Soup in Great Missenden as part of the Bucks Open Studios trail. Opening times are 9.30am - 5pm every day except Sundays from 6th June - 20th June.
Alongside my work there will also be pieces made by Sue Freeman and ceramic animals by Ostinelli & Priest

These two dogs, Scottish Deerhound and The Haberdasher's Hound are both made from recycled fabrics ranging from Tartans and Hound's Tooth Tweed to curtains and Paisley.
They are some of my work showing at the Bath gallery 44AD, the PV is tomorrow 24th March (running until Sunday 29th March)

'Fishoek' the Cat and 'Carriage Horse' will be among the many pieces that I shall be exhibiting next week on stand L8 with Art Amatoria at AAF, Battersea, London.
Other pieces of mine will include squirrels, dogs, birds and mushrooms!
The show runs from Thursday 23rd Oct to Sunday 26th Oct and is always really busy and full of fascinating works of Art.
